Woodshed Smokehouse Website Design: Smoked Meats, Open Flames, and a Seamless Digital Experience

At Red Racer Advertising, we’re always fired up about creating websites that feel as alive as the places they represent. When we partnered with Woodshed Smokehouse, one of Chef Tim Love’s most beloved Fort Worth restaurants, we had a clear mission: bring the smoke, the flavor, and the energy of this riverside destination to life online.

Where the Smoke Never Settles

Woodshed Smokehouse is no ordinary barbecue joint. Perched on the banks of the Trinity River, it’s an open-air celebration of wood-fired cooking, cold drinks, live music, and laid-back Texas vibes. With a menu that rotates based on the wood of the day—mesquite, oak, pecan, or hickory—and a patio that’s always packed, the Woodshed is a place people feel, not just visit. Our job was to make the website reflect that same immersive experience.

Design Goals and Key Features

To do Woodshed justice online, we focused on a few core objectives:

  • Capturing the Smokehouse Aesthetic: The site needed to reflect the rustic-yet-modern vibe of the restaurant. We leaned into dark wood textures, smoky gradients, and bold typography that nods to the restaurant’s larger-than-life personality—without overwhelming the user experience.

  • Putting the Patio Front and Center: Let’s be honest—most guests come to kick back on the patio with a beer, some smoked beef shin, and live tunes in the background. We designed the site to highlight the open-air experience with full-width photography, subtle animations, and updated info about live music and outdoor events.

  • Making Menus Easy to Digest: Woodshed’s menu is anything but typical. From rotating meats and daily specials to an extensive drink list, we created an easy-to-navigate menu structure that gives guests the details they need while still making their mouths water.

  • Streamlining the Experience: Whether a guest is checking today’s menu, planning a riverside brunch, or booking a private event, the site needed to be fast, mobile-friendly, and intuitive. We built it on Webflow to ensure speed and flexibility, with a CMS that makes it simple for the Woodshed team to update as often as the menu changes.

Working Hand-in-Hand with the Woodshed Team

As with all our restaurant clients, collaboration was key. We worked closely with the internal team to define goals, clarify brand tone, and select visuals that matched the on-site experience. Their input ensured that every design choice—from the photo selection to the call-to-action buttons—felt true to the Woodshed brand.

Turning Clicks Into Covers

Since launch, the new website has become a powerful tool in keeping guests informed and excited about their next visit. With increased traffic and improved usability, the site supports both the culinary and operational sides of the business—driving reservations, streamlining private event inquiries, and keeping fans connected.

Conclusion: Building a Digital Home for a Fort Worth Favorite

At Red Racer Advertising, we don’t just build websites—we craft digital experiences that reflect the soul of a brand. For Woodshed Smokehouse, that meant creating a site that captures the smoke, the heat, and the unforgettable flavors of one of Fort Worth’s best-loved hangouts. It’s bold. It’s flavorful. And it’s ready for guests—just like the Woodshed.
